The New York Times: Non-Toxic Cleaning and Children

I want to share this article from the New York Times. It covers several companies that manufacture non-toxic cleaning products,including Babyganics, and stories from parents and their choices regarding non-toxic cleaning products.
Kevin Schwartz, the founder of Babyganics is featured toward the end of the article and how he got his start in the non-toxic cleaning biz is interesting. I have to tell you I am a huge supporter of non-toxic cleaning products and really think every family should make it a priority to change, stop using those chemicals! If you cannot afford to buy non-toxic products simply use vinegar and water ( mixed in a spray bottle) and baking soda can be used as a cleanser.

I personally suffer from allergy related asthma and one of the first things an asthma clinic will tell new patients is to stop using chemical in their house. Check out what New York is doing for their kids in this excerpt from The New York Times article:

Since last September, a state law has required schools in New York to use cleaning products that do not contain any carcinogens, reproductive toxins or scents that could aggravate asthma, following some of the standards certified by Green Seal, a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C.Massachusetts and other states are also encouraging changes in the way public buildings are cleaned.
